UMA WANG
Uma Wang, whose Chinese name is Wang Zhi, trained at Donghua University in Shanghai and Central Saint Martins in London. Since the establishment of the personal brand in 2009, she has gained an international reputation for her unique understanding of fabrics, exquisite tailoring, and balancing sophistication with timeless aesthetics. She is the first Chinese designer to enter the official calendar of Milan Fashion Week and joined the official schedule of Paris Fashion Week in 2017. In 2022, Uma Wang was inducted as a permanent member of the Chambre Syndicale du Prêt-à-Porter, under the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Her unique style has attracted the attention of the top buyers in the world. The UMA WANG brand now has a presence in more than 30 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Oceania.
Uma Wang was featured on the 2015 Forbes China Designers List and was chosen by the BoF 500 for several consecutive years. Vogue Italia proclaimed her the “Up and Coming Talent” who deserved global recognition, and in 2012 she became the first Chinese designer to participate in the inaugural CFDA/Vogue China Exchange Program. The international fashion industry regards Uma as one of the leading figures in contemporary Chinese design.
Beyond her core fashion practice, Uma Wang has been deeply involved in a wide range of cross-disciplinary artistic projects. In film costume design, her collaboration with director Jiang Wen on Hidden Man earned her nominations for Best Makeup & Costume Design at the 55th Golden Horse Awards and Best Costume Design at the 13th Asian Film Awards. Her work with director Juno Mak on Sons of the Neon Night won her the Best Costume Design Award at the 44th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2026. In 2022, Uma Wang partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), becoming the first Chinese fashion designer to collaborate with the agency and her inspiring creativity made a tremendous contribution to refugees.
Uma Wang,中文名王汁。曾就讀於中國紡織大學和中央聖馬丁藝術與設計學院。自 2009 年成立個人品牌以來,因對織物的獨到理解、精湛的剪裁和豐富而內斂的美學內核而享譽國際。她是首位進入米蘭時裝周官方日程的中國設計師,並於 2017 年進入巴黎時裝周官方日程;2022 年,她正式成為法國高級訂製與時裝聯合會高級成衣公會永久會員。其高識別度的獨特風格受到國際各大頂尖買手店的追捧,目前 Uma Wang 品牌已經覆蓋亞洲、歐洲、美洲、中東和大洋洲等全球 30 多個國家。
Uma Wang 曾進入 2015 年福布斯中國設計師榜單,並連續數年入選 BoF500。她被義大利版《Vogue》點名為「值得重點關注的新生代設計師」,也是首位入圍「CFDA 設計師協會 /《Vogue》雜誌中美交流計劃」的中國設計師,被國際時裝業公認為中國當代設計師的領軍人物之一。
Uma Wang 也深度參與了多項跨領域藝術製作,其中,與姜文導演在電影《邪不壓正》中的合作,令她獲得了第 55 屆金馬獎最佳服裝造型的提名者的殊榮;以及提名第十三屆亞洲電影大獎最佳服裝造型設計。與麥浚龍導演合作電影《風林火山》,在 2026 年獲得第 44 屆香港電影金像獎最佳服裝造型獎。2022 年,Uma Wang 與聯合國難民署合作,作為第一位與聯合國難民署(UNHCR)合作的中國時裝設計師,用她的創造力為難民貢獻了力量。
